Warden Law, Humbleton Hill, Copt Hill and Hastings Hill are all burial grounds known as cairn's or barrows. Some of them have been excavated like the one at Copt Hill by DR Greenwell in 1877. Bodies were found from the Neolithic and bronze age. Many show excarnation, this means the bodies were left to rot in the open air before being cremated and buried.
